Gabusan Art Market was established in 2004. The market occupies an area of 4.5 hectare. The market can accommodate more than 400 sellers in its 16 stalls. Having a wide range of handicrafts, the market stalls are categorized based on their commodities and the basic materials to make it easier for visitors in finding their desired items.
The visitors who are looking for leather products can find them in block 1 to three. There are handicrafts made of leather, from cow skin to sheep skin, such as calligraphy, wallet, fan, bookmark, puppet, and many others.
Block 4 and 5 are for those batik lovers. A lot of batik motifs decorate various items in there. There are batik shirt, batik blouse, T-shirt, bedcover, and so on. The motifs in these stalls combine traditional and modern elements.
You can find masks of different characters in block 10 and 11. The masks are made of wood and painted in different colorful batik motifs. These ones are very good to decorate your reception room. In block 8, there are many kinds of handicrafts in both simple and complicated forms. Stuff like decorating items and lipsticks are also sold here.
Aside from what is mentioned above, the market also has paintings of artists from Bantul and nearby areas. There are also handicrafts made of metal, nickel alloy, silver, copper, and brass. The sellers in Gabusan Art Market also have leather shoes and bags. Although these items are from areas outside Bantul, they in fact make the market livelier.

Using public transports, the very likely route tourists should go through is from Tugu Train Station taking a Transjogja bus route 1A then change for Transjogja bus route 3B at Adisucipto Airports Bus Stop for Giwangan Bus Station. The bus fare from Tugu Train Station to Giwangan Bus Station costs Rp 3.000,00. From the bus station to Gabusan Art Market, tourists should take a bus heading for Parangtritis then get off right in front of Gabusan Art Market.
