Jogja, Jogjatrip.com – The devastating earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan has become a concern for Jogjanese artists and Japanese students in Jogja. To show sympathy for the disaster, they are holding an event called “Message from Jogja to Japan" on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at the Seminar Room of Taman Budaya Yogyakarta (TBY).
The event will be open for public and free of charge. Besides stories from Japan when the disaster took place, there is going to be an art performance by the Japanese. The event will start at 20.00 WIST.
According to the event’s public relation officer, Eko Nuryono, if people want to attend this action, each of them is expected to bring a postcard containing prayers and supports. “We plan to send the postcards as a moral support from Jogjanese,” said Eko Nuryono.
Some Japanese will tell stories about the current condition of their country. In this event, there will also be real photos of the places hit by the tragedy.***(Eko Wahyu)
