Sleman, Jogjatrip.com – Philately Exhibition (Panfila) 2011 was opened by Tri Harjun Ismaji representing Yogyakarta governor in Ambarrukmo Plaza (Amplaz) on Wednesday (30/3). Attending the event were members of PT Pos Indonesia management board, general director of Postel, and general chief of Indonesian Philatelist Association (PFI). Yogyakarta governor, Sultan Hamengku Buwana X, stated that philately as a hobby can strengthen the unity of a nation, represent it, and become a reference of its history. Philately, thus, can show a nation’s identity.
Yogyakarta is the first road show of the philately exhibition before the International Philately Exhibition in Jakarta in 2012. "We are proud to be trusted to hold this national exhibition in Yogyakarta,” said Arifin Muchlis, head of Yogyakarta Post Office. “Hopefully we can draw tourists to come here and see our stamp collection,” he added.
The exhibition will go on for 5 days from March 30th to April 3rd, 2011 in the 2nd floor of Ambarrukmo Plaza Yogyakarta.***(Indra Jati)
